IPS Officer Probing Sushant Singh Rajput Case 'Forcibly Quarantined' In Mumbai: Bihar DGP

The ongoing probe to ascertain the cause behind the death of bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has been taking dramatic twists over a the last fortnight and it took another bizarre turn on Sunday (August 2) when senior IPS officer Vinay Tiwari, who reached Mumbai from Patna for carrying out investigation into the matter was "forcibly quarantined" for 14 days by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials. IPS Officer Vinay Tiwari is in Mumbai along with his team of Bihar Police officials to investigate an "abetment to suicide" case on the basis of an First Information Report (FIR) filed by Sushant's father K K Singh in Patna. In his FIR, Sushant's father has charged actress Rhea Chakraborty and her family members as the main accused behind the untimely death of their son. "IPS officer Vinay Tiwari reached Mumbai today from Patna on official duty to lead the police team there but he has been forcibly quarantined by BMC officials at 11 PM today," Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Pandey tweeted.

Sushant Singh Rajput Case: Patna SP Vinay Arrive In Mumbai To Lead Bihar Police Team The Mumbai Police which swung into action after Sushant Singh reportedly died after committing suicide is investigating this case and has summoned over 30 people close to the deceased actor for recording their statements. Prominent among those 30-odd people include Rhea, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, Aditya Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sanjana Sanghi along with actor's personal staff members and doctors. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Sunday (August 2) condemned the demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation into Sushant's death case. Taking to social media he said that even though the Patna Police has filed an FIR into Sushant's death and is probing the case, it will be the onus of Mumbai Police to carry out investigation as per jurisdictional norms.

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, a resident of Patna, reportedly died by suicide at his Bandra residence in Mumbai on June 14.
