Bhima Koregaon Case: JNU, TISS Students Recruited For Terror, Says NIA
According to the charges, the accused were alleged to be involved in recruiting the students from top indian varsities namely JNU, New Delhi and TISS, Mumbai to spread terror activities across India.
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency has submitted a list of draft charges to the NIA court agains the accused of the Bhima Koregaon and Elgar Parishad case.
According to the charges, the accused were alleged to be involved in recruiting the students from top indian varsities namely JNU, New Delhi and TISS, Mumbai to spread terror activities across India.
As per the IANS report, earlier last week, the agency had filled the draft charges before the Special Court's Special Judge DE Kothalikar after long investigations into the Bhima Koregaon and Elgar Parishad cases. The draft charges was filled against 16 accused and 6 absconding accused.

"The accused had recruited students from various universities including the two highly reputed Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi) and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai) for commission of terrorist activities," the NIA was quoted by IANS in its report.
The 16 arrested accused in the cases are Sudhir P. Dhawale, Vernon S. Gonsalves, Arun T. Fereira, Rona J. Wilson, Gautam Navlakha, Surendra P. Gadling, Shoma K. Sen, Mahesh S. Raut, P. Varavara Rao, Sudha Bharadwaj, Anand B. Teltumbde, Hany Babu M. Tharayil, Sagar Gorkhe of Ahmednagar, Ramesh Gaichor of Pune, and the late Fr. Stan Lourduswamy, who died in custody of the Mumbai Police on July 5, 2021.
The absconding accused in the cases are Milind Teltumbde aliases Dipak and Sahyadri, Prakash Goswami aliases Navin, Ritupan Goswami, Kishan Bose aliases Prashanto, Mupalla Laxman Rao, alias Ganpati, Chandrashekhar, Manglu, and Deepu.
