Bhim Army Chief On TIME's Emerging Leaders List; Chandra Shekhar Azad Says ‘It’s Recognition Of Bahujans'
Azad thanked the magazine for recognizing his Bhim Army and his movement for social justice and equality.
Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Azad aka Ravan and five other Indian-origin persons have been named in the TIME magazine's TIME100 Next list. The newly introduced TIME100 Next list is an expansion of TIME’s flagship TIME100 franchise which now showcases "emerging leaders who are shaping the future."
Acknowledging the honour Chandra Shekhar Azad said it is a recognition of Bahujans struggle. Azad thanked the magazine for recognizing his Bhim Army and his movement for social justice.
“I'm humbled to be recognised as one among 100 emerging leaders in the world listed. Thank You for recognising Bhim Army & our movement for social justice and equality in 2021 #TIME100 NEXT. It's a recognition of Bahujans' struggle for self-respect,” he wrote on micro-blogging platform Twitter.

Twitter’s lawyer Vijaya Gadde, UK’s Finance Minister Rishi Sunak, Instacart founder and CEO Apoorva Mehta, doctor and Executive Director of nonprofit Get Us PPE Shikha Gupta and founder of nonprofit Upsolve Rohan Pavuluri are the other Indian-origin personalities on the 2021 TIME100 Next released on Wednesday.
