Rahul Gandhi Concludes 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' In Dharavi — A Round Up Of 63-Day Congress March
The yatra began on January 14 from Thoubal, Manipur, and was supposed to end on March 20. However, it ended on March 16, the day the Election Commission announced the schedule for Lok Sabha elections.
New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi concluded his 63-day Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra by paying homage to Dr B R Ambedkar at Chaityabhoomi in central Mumbai and reciting the Preamble of the Constitution. Accompanied by his sister and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Gandhi honoured Dr Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, and reiterated the Congress' pledge of caste census and the promise of providing Rs 1 lakh annually to impoverished women if the party returns to power.
The yatra began on January 14 from Thoubal, Manipur, and was supposed to end on March 20. However, it ended four days earlier on March 16, the day the Election Commission announced the schedule for the Lok Sabha elections.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi emphasised the importance of "Nyay" (justice) and equality while addressing the gathering on the concluding day.

Rahul further launched a scathing attack on the BJP, saying, "ED is not Enforcement Directorate, it is Extortion Directorate."

Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra Made People Aware About Reality Of Nation: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, that this yatra was organised to make people aware about the reality of the nation.

Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra: A Round Up
Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra concluded on Saturday on its 63rd day at Chaityabhoomi, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Smark in Mumbai's Dadar West. The yatra began on January 14 from Thoubal, Manipur, and was supposed to end on March 20. However, it ended on March 16, the day the Election Commission announced the schedule for Lok Sabha elections.
During its 63-day journey, the Yatra covered 100 Lok Sabha constituencies, traversing 15 states. The Yatra's main aim was to draw attention towards issues such as unemployment, social justice, and inflation. The states covered during the yatra included Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, before concluding in Maharashtra.
The yatra began in Manipur's Thoubal where Rahul Gandhi promised to bring peace and harmony in the ethnic violence-hit state. Rahul slammed the Modi government for not doing anything about the state's crisis stating that "Maybe for Narendra Modi, the BJP and the RSS, Manipur is not a part of India. Your pain is not their pain."
After spending a day in Manipur, Rahul reached Nagaland's Kohima in his custom-made Volvo bus. He received a rousing welcome at the Khuzama village and held various meetings with Naga tribal organisations, including Naga Hoho, civil society groups, and church bodies.
Rahul Gandhi's Nyay Yatra experienced turbulence after it set foot in Assam. As the Congress party supporters tried to enter Guwahati, they were stopped by a police contingent, blocking the party from hitting the city's roads. This came in after Assam CM Himanta Biswa denied permission for the yatra to move through Guwahati.
Following this, Congress accused Biswa of being the "most corrupt CM in India". He has been carrying out relentless attacks on our convoys, properties, and leaders using his goons," the party stated.
Assam Police also stated that the Congress workers broke the barricades on the road, leading to some of the cops and the public getting injured. Gandhi was also barred from visiting the shrine of a 15th-century social reformer in the state. An FIR was also registered against Rahul Gandhi and others including KC Venugopal and Kanhaiya Kumar for damaging public property.
On January 20, the yatra entered Arunachal Pradesh from Assam where Rahul Gandhi was received by Arunachal Pradesh Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Nabam Tuki in the Pappum Pare district.
After he was denied to visit the shrine after re-entering in Assam, Rahul reached Meghalaya via Morigaon. There he claimed that he was "prevented" from engaging with the students at a private institution due to "instructions" from the Union Home Minister. He had also slammed Amit Shah for calling Meghalaya's government corrupt. The Congress leader also stated during a public address that "Meghalaya is not ruled from here, but from Delhi."
Rahul Gandhi entered Bengal's Cooch Behar on January 25 after which he halted the yatra for two days and went to Delhi for the Republic Day. The yatra resumed on January 28 and traversed Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, Uttar Dinajpur, Malda, Murshidabad, and Birbhum districts.
However, he faced hurdles in Bengal as well and the yatra was struggling to get permission to organise public meetings and events. Notably, during this time, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee announced that her party would go solo in Bengal as sat-sharing talks with the Congress failed.
The yatra also traversed several districts in Madhya Pradesh, including Gwalior, Shivpuri, Guna, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Ujjain, Dhar, and Ratlam. Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath joined the yatra amidst speculation surrounding his resignation from the Congress to join the BJP.
Meanwhile, in Gujarat, the Congress faced setbacks as MLA Arvind Ladani resigned from the party, submitting his resignation to Speaker Shankar Chaudhary. Additionally, senior Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia and Gujarat unit working chief Ambarish Der stepped down expressing discontent over the party's decision to boycott the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Prior to Ladani, Rajya Sabha member Naran Rathwa, along with his son and supporters, joined the BJP.
Rahul Gandhi will now undertake a 'Nyay Sankalp Padyatra' from Mani Bhavan to August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai on Sunday morning with the opposition I.N.D.I.A. bloc coming together for a show of strength. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and SP chief Akhilesh are slated to take part in the event.
