Kerala’s New Liquor E- Token App BevQ Hits Technical Snags Soon After Launch

BevQ APP Kerala: Kerala Government has launched a new app BevQ to make the sale of liquor in the state easier and help people maintain social distancing. But the app has hit technical glitches soon after it launched.

BevQ APP Kerala: The Kerala Government has launched a new Android app to make the sale of liquor in the state easier. But it seems the app BevQ which was available for download in Google Play Store from today has hit technical glitches and many users have complained about problems in using the app. Developed by a Kochi-based startup, Faircode Technologies Private Limited the app will help to reduce overcrowding in front of liquor stores and help in avoiding long queues. According to the description available in Google Play Store, ‘The App is a virtual queue application and token generator service’. With the App, an e token can be generated, and the person can then reach the nearest store in that specific time slot. It has been developed to maintain social distancing and avoid further spread of the virus. The daily sale of alcohol will begin from 9 AM to 5 PM. But soon after the App launched today, many people have complained about technical glitches. Such as problems with OTP generation and issues with downloading the app. Many users were even unable to find the app on Google store. A user has written as review ‘After an uncountable tries , I was able to book a token. Since the fact that there are nearby outlets, some of the users were allocated non feasible counter locations. At least it should ask the user to select a counter location and provide a list of time slot available there...' Many states have employed various methods to avoid overcrowding and to ensure social distancing is followed. Odisha and Jharkhand have allowed Swiggy and Zomato to home deliver alcohol.
