"Bal Thackeray tried to kill Sonu Nigam several times", former MP Nilesh Rane makes shocking claim
Former MP Nilesh Rane who is the son of former Maharashtra CM Narayan Rane, claimed that Bal Thackeray got Shiv Sena Thane unit chief Anand Dighe killed in the year 2001.
New Delhi: Nilesh Rane, former Congress MP and son of former Mahrashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane, leveled serious allegations on late Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray , accusing him of plotting to get Bollywood playback singer Sonu Nigam murdered on several occasions.
“Attempts to kill Sonu Nigam were made on several occasions by Balasaheb. You may ask him, now Balasaheb is no more, now he can tell how Shiv Sainiks had gone to kill Sonu Nigam at the command of Balasaheb,” Rane said.
“What was the relation between Balasaheb and Sonu Nigam? It’s better you don’t compel me to speak it out”, he said threatening.
He claimed that Bal Thackeray got Shiv Sena's Thane unit chief Anand Dighe killed in the year 2001. "How many people died at Balasaheb's Karjat farm house?" Rane said. "Don't compel us to open our mouths,” he said.
Shiv Sena’s reaction on Rane’s allegations could not be taken.
Rane was reacting to Shiv Sena MP Vinayak Raut’s allegations. Raut had questioned: “In the 10 years of Narayan Rane’s political life, who killed those nine people? If they have the guts, then Narayan Rane better answer this question,” Raut had said.
Nilesh Rane was an MP on Congress ticket from the year 2009 to 2014 . He had to face defeat at the hands of Vinayak Raut in 2014 general elections. Rane stayed with Congress till 2017 and then he joined Maharashtra Swabhimani Paksha.
