Police said that the youth who threatened did not directly demand money but his motive was to get some money on this pretext
Death Threat To Salman Khan, Zeeshan Siddique: A 27-year-old youth has been arrested from Noida for allegedly making threatening calls to Bollywood actor Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddique, son of the slain NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique. The arrest was made by Mumbai police after the death threat call was received by Siddiqui’s public relations office in Bandra East on Friday evening.
As per sources privy to the developments, the arrested accused have been identified as one Gurfan Khan.
"The person on the phone had threatened to kill Zeeshan Siddiqui and actor Salman Khan and has demanded money. Following this, a case was registered against unknown people in Nirmalnagar Police Station on the basis of the complaint given by the employee of Zeeshan Siddiqui's office," they said.
However, police said that the youth who threatened did not directly demand money but his motive was to get some money on this pretext.
Earlier also, Salman Khan had received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, whose suspected members had opened fire outside the actor's Bandra home in April. The actor's security has been beefed up following the string of threats. Meanwhile, on his part, Salman Khan has been maintaining a low profile and has limited his public appearances after the assassination of his politician friend Siddique a few weeks ago. The notorious Lawarence Bisnoi Gang had also claimed responsibility for the former Maharashtra Minister's murder.
Meanwhile, Siddique was very close to the Hindi film fraternity and was known for throwing lavish Iftar parties and hosting several high-profile guests. It was a Baba Siddique Iftar party in 2013 that ended a long-standing feud between the two of the biggest superstars of Bollywood, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan after a 5 year-long spat which divided the entire Bollywood into 2 camps of loyalists.
