Ayodhya: PM Modi To Participate In Deepotsav For First Time, Offer Prayers To Ramlala On Eve Of Deepavali

PM Modi will be in Ayodhya on October 23rd for the celebration of Deepotsav. This will be the sixth edition of Deepotsav however, PM Modi will be attending this in-person for the first time.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya on Sunday to participate in Deepotsav celebrations being held on the eve of Deepavali.

According to a statement by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), PM Modi will visit Bhagwan Ramlala Virajman for darshan and offer prayers at approximately 5 PM in the evening. Then he will visit the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra site. He will perform the 'Rajyabhishek' of the symbolic Bhagwan Ram at about 5:45 PM. The Prime Minister will attend Aarti at New Ghat on the Saryu River at around 6:30 PM, and then the grand Deepotsav celebrations will begin.

The sixth edition of Deepotsav is taking place this year, and the Prime Minister will be taking part in the festivities in person for the first time. On this day, more than 15 lakh diyas would be illuminated.

PM Modi's Itinerary In Ayodhya

  • Darshan of Lord Shri Ramlala Virajman at 4.55 pm
  • Inspection of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi site at 5.05 pm.
  • 'Rajyabhishek' of the symbolic Lord Shri Ram at around 5:40 pm.
  • The Prime Minister will witness the aarti at the New Ghat of the Saryu river at around 6:25 pm.
  • The grand Deepotsav celebrations will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi at 6.40 pm.
  • PM Modi will watch the Digital Fireworks at 7.25 pm.

During Deepotsav, there will also be five animated tableau displays and eleven Ramleela tableau displays including various dance forms from various states. Along with the Grand Musical Laser Show, the Prime Minister will also attend the 3-D Holographic Projection Mapping Show at Ram Ki Paidi on the banks of the Saryu River.

Security has been heightened in Ayodhya ahead of PM Modi's arrival to take part in Deepotsav celebrations.

Route Diversions In View Of PM Modi's Visit

Due to security concerns ahead of PM Modi's visit, various route diversions have been created, applicable from 8 am today. Heavy vehicles, DCM, and tractors won't be allowed to enter the state. Owing to the route diversions, people travelling from Lucknow to Gorakhpur, or Basti will have to go via Barabanki to Jarwal road, Utraula, and Dumriyaganj to get to Gorakhpur. 

Vehicles going towards Barabanki and Lucknow from Gonda/Balrampur via Ayodhya will have to stop in Mankapur and then go via Jarwal road, Ramnagar Chowk. Vehicles going towards Ayodhya from Prayagraj/Sultanpur will have to go through Basti, and vehicles going towards Gorakhpur will have to go towards Kadipur, Shahganj, Azamgarh, and Dohrighat will have to go via Sultanpur only.

Vehicles travelling from Ambedkarnagar to Basti and Gorakhpur via Ayodhya will be diverted towards Tanda, Kalwari, and then to Basti. Vehicles going to Ayodhya from Raebareli, Amethi via Basti will have to go towards Sultanpur, Katka, Mahrua, Ambedkarnagar, Tanda, Kalwari bridge from Amethi itself. Vehicles going from Azamgarh to Lucknow via Ambedkarnagar will have to go from Ambedkarnagar via Mahrua, Katka, and Sultanpur to Lucknow.
