300 Units Free For Every Family In Goa If AAP Wins In 2022: Arvind Kejriwal

Goa wants change. People want clean politics, Arvind Kejriwal said while interacting with the press in Goa.

Panaji: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal & Aam Adami Party (AAP) on Wednesday said that each family in Goa will get up to 300 units electricity-free per month if his party was to come to power in Goa in the upcoming state Assembly elections.

'If people in Delhi can get free electricity, then why not free power for people in Goa', he said.

Kejriwal said that if AAP were to win in the state Assembly Elections set for February 2022, every family will get to 300 units electricity-free per month.  The bill will come to your home... 87 percent of Goa will start getting a zero electricity bill. This is my guarantee", Kejriwal said, adding that the power billing system will start off with a "clean slate".

He said that despite Goa being a power-surplus state it faces frequent power outages.

"Before we came to power in Delhi, there were 7-8 hours of power cuts in the summer. There are problems in the Goa distribution network just like in Delhi. We changed the transformers and cables. It took two and a half years, but today we get 24-hours electricity. There is power but it just doesn't reach homes," he said.

Another very big promise made by Kejriwal was that farmers will be provided with free electricity. He said, farmers are very poor and for farm work, he will be provided with free electricity.

While interacting with the press Kejriwal slammed MLAs who left Congress and other parties to join the BJP after the last Assembly elections in Goa. Going by the numbers, those who should have been in opposition are now ruling the state and those who should have been in power are now in the opposition, he added.

These MLAs who switched sides claimed that they were joining the BJP to get people's work done. Did they do people's work as they claimed? Now people are saying that they switched sides for the lure of money. People feel betrayed, he said. Thousands of Goans are claiming they will not vote for either BJP or Congress in the next elections, Kejriwal said.

"Goans saw how Delhiites kicked out both BJP & Cong & gave rise to Honest Politics Now Goans also want Free Electricity without power cuts, Mohalla Clinics, World-class Govt Schools & Hospitals. Goa wants change. People want clean politics", Kejriwal said who is on a two-day visit to Goa.

Last month, the AAP leader also made a similar promise to Punjab. He announced to provide 300 units of free power to every household in Punjab. He also promised to provide an uninterrupted round-the-clock power supply, if the AAP forms the next government in the state. The announcement was made while the state was struggling with constant power outages and protests led by SAD & BSP erupted in several parts of the state.
