‘Want To Work With Centre For Delhi’s Development,’ Says Kejriwal After Taking Oath As CM

Kejriwal has not altered the composition of his cabinet that comprised the same members during the previous assembly's tenure.

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday afternoon was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Delhi for the third straight time in the presence of a gigantic crowd at the historic Ramlila Maidan. Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal administered the oath of office to Kejriwal and his six-member Cabinet. "Not my victory. It's the victory of every Delhi citizen. It has been our endeavour over the past five years to see how we can make a positive change in the lives of every Delhi resident," said Kejriwal after the swearing-in. 'Elections are over, it doesn't matter who you voted for, now all Delhiites are my family. I will work for everyone, be it from any party, any religion, caste or strata of society,' he added. Kejriwal said that it's time to put the bitterness of elections behind and look forward. "I'm everyone's chief minister -- for AAP, BJP, Congress and all parties, I have never discriminated against anybody in my previous tenure, " Kejriwal said. He said he had sent an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for his swearing-in ceremony, but he could not come because of other engagements. He said he would like to seek blessings from the Prime Minister and would like to work along with the Central government to take Delhi forward. Nature has ensured every valuable thing in the world is free, be it Mother's love, father's blessings or Shravan Kumar's dedication. So, Kejriwal loves his people and hence this love is free,” said the three-time Delhi CM. The overflowing Ramlila grounds in Delhi also witnessed the swearing-in of Kejriwal's six-member cabinet, comprising Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain, and Rajendra Pal Goutam. Except Gopal Rai, who took oath in the name of the nation's freedom fighters, all the others took it in 'God's' name. Kejriwal has not altered the composition of his cabinet that comprised the same members during the previous assembly's tenure. The AAP stormed back to power in the bitterly fought Delhi assembly elections that took place on February 8. The AAP won 63 of the 70 seats while BJP bagged the remaining 7 seats.
