Former FM Arun Jaitley's Health Continues To Remain Critical At AIIMS
Jaitley, who had stopped attending office since early April last year, was back in the finance ministry on August 23, 2018. In September 2014, he underwent bariatric surgery to correct the weight he had gained because of a long-standing diabetic condition
New Delhi: Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s health continues to be critical at AIIMS, where he has been admitted since August 9, and has been put on a life support system. He was admitted to the hospital after complaining of breathlessness and restlessness. The hospital hasn’t released a medical bulletin updating on his health since August 10.
Several senior leaders visited the hospital on Sunday to enquire about his health. As per sources, a team of doctors have been assigned to ensure best treatment to Jaitley. Several leaders like Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal, Union Minister Smriti Irani and Ram Vilas Paswan visited AIIMS on Sunday to enquire about former Union Minister’s health.
Himachal Governor Kalraj Mishra, RSS leader Dr Krishna Gopal and former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh also visited hospital.
Jaitley has been keeping unwell for a long time now, which also kept him from contesting Lok Sabha elections. Jaitley, who is a lawyer by profession, played a very important role in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s previous cabinet; as he held both Finance and Defence Ministries.
