New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra on Wednesday accused the Congress-led Opposition of brainwashing Muslim girls at the Shaheen Bagh protest site by making them shout menacing slogans against the Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country. Thousands of people, including women and children, have been protesting for over a month at Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh and nearby Jamia Millia Islamia against the CAA and the National Register of Citizens (NRC). Addressing a press conference, Patra said “At Shaaheen Bagh, small girls with hijab are made to shout ‘PM should be killed’. I am not pointing fingers at the girls but it needs to be known who are trying to brainwash the little girls who are innocent and bright students.” Patra also slammed Congress leader Ashok Chavan for saying: "We formed the Govt in Maharashtra with Shiv Sena on the appeal of our Muslim brothers. Muslims were saying that BJP is their prime enemy. Thus, we should make the Govt with Shiv Sena to keep them out of power." “Does this mean the Congress forms Govt asking the Muslims and Muslims only? Do they not care about the Hindus or the other communities,” the BJP leader questioned.
