Amritsar Blast Was Of Low Intensity, No Detonator Other Devices Found: Punjab DGP

The Punjab police on Tuesday said that the blast near Golden Temple in Amritsar that injured one person on Monday, May 8 was of low intensity. It also said that investigating agencies like NSG, NIA and FSL are assisting in the case.
"Preliminary investigation shows the Amritsar blast was of low intensity. Investigation is being conducted by Punjab Police with the help of agencies like NSG, NIA and FSL. We did not find any detonator or other devices. Searches arr also being conducted at market places, railway stations and other places, said Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, while speaking to the media on Tuesday.

Another blast had taken place at the site on Saturday, May 6. The cause of the blasts is yet to be ascertained.
According to PTI, the blast tht took place on Monday was heard within one-km radius of the Golden Temple. One person was injured in the incident and the glass facades of some buildings were damaged in the explosion at Heritage Street near the temple.
Notably, at around 11:15 pm on May 6, there was an explosion at the same Heritage Street near the Golden Temple. Police said that one person was injured in the Saturday blast, as reported by ANI.
Meanwhile, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami has appelaed with the Punjab government and the police administration to thoroughly investigate the blast incidents near Golden Temple.
While speaking to the media on Monday, Dhami said with the incidents of explosions that occurred within two days, many doubts and questions as well as fear have arisen in the minds of the people and the 'Sangat' arriving in Amritsar from all over the country, PTI reported.
