Amritpal Singh In Contact With ISI, Trying To Cross To Pakistan. High Alert On Border Districts

Following the input, the Border Security Force deployed on the First Line of Defence and Punjab Police on the Second Line of Defence has been put on high alert.

New Delhi: Fugitive Khalistani leader and Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh is in contact with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, which helped the radical preacher to flee to Nepal, as per ABP News sources.

The intelligence agency tried to move Amritpal out of Nepal to a shelter house in another country but after the Indian government asked Nepal to not let him flee to a third country, Kathmandu had put him on surveillance list, following which the radical preacher came back to Punjab, they added.

As per the sources ISI can try to bring Amritpal to Pakistan and has activated its sleeper cells in Punjab's border districts of Tarn Taran, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, and Ajnala.

Instructions were given to prepare for sending Amritpal Singh out of Punjab to Pakistan through the same route through which Pakistan sends arms and drugs to its sleeper cells in India, sources added.

Following the input, the Border Security Force deployed on the First Line of Defence and Punjab Police on the Second Line of Defence has been put on high alert.

The pro-Khalistan preacher has been on the run escaping police dragnet since March 18 amid a police crackdown on his outfit. Several CCTV footage showed him escaping on four-wheeler, three-wheeler, and two-wheeler and changing his appearance from a traditional seer wearing traditional clothes to being spotted in trousers, jacket and sungalsses.

On Wednesday, he appeared in a video, calling for a 'Sarbat Khalsa' congregation on Baisakhi to discuss issues related to the Sikh community and saying he is in high spirits.

The fugitive said if the Punjab government wanted only to arrest him, they would have come to his home and he would have given up. He claimed the police action against him was an "attack" on the Sikh community.

"As far as my arrest is concerned, it is in the hands of God," he said in Punjabi in the undated video.
