'Amit Shah turned off my mic': Rahul Gandhi jokes during speech

New Delhi [India], Aug. 16 (ANI): Congress president Rahul Gandhi blamed his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) counterpart Amit Shah for switching off his microphone during his speech at an event here in the national capital on Thursday.

While delivering his speech at Sanjhi Virasat Bachao Sammelan (Save composite culture convention) in New Delhi's Talkatora stadium,Rahul's microphone suddenly went off with a loud noise.

"Amit Shah ji ne mic off kar diya (Amit Shah switched it off)," Rahul said during event, which was attended by leaders from 17 Opposition parties.

Further attacking the BJP, the Congress president asserted that they work with different ideologies for the development of the country.

"Media always ask why the opposition is always against Prime Minister and BJP, I thought about it and after thinking over it deeply I understood that there are different ideologies in the country, one is of the BJP president who thinks India is a golden bird while we look at it as Ganga," Rahul noted.

"The BJP is trying to cage the country, we will not let them do so," he further asserted. (ANI)
