Amit Shah Inaugurates BJP’s New 7-Storey Kerala HQ: 'More Important Than CM Post'

The foundation stone for the new BJP office was laid by Amit Shah himself on June 3, 2017, making Saturday's inauguration both a homecoming and a moment of consolidation.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday inaugurated Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) new state headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram—a sprawling, seven-storey structure built to replace the old Mararji Bhavan. The inaugural ceremony of the 60,000 square feet facility began at 11 AM marking a significant milestone for the party's organisational presence in Kerala.

The modern building stands as a symbol of the BJP’s growing ambitions in the state, where it has been striving to expand its footprint. Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a sharp attack on both the LDF and UDF, stating, "The track record of LDF and UDF has been that of a corrupt government. The LDF has been involved in multiple scams like cooperative bank scam, AI camera scam, Life Mission scam, PPE kit scam and India's biggest scam - state-sponsored gold smuggling scam."

Drawing a comparison between political ideologies, he said, "Both the BJP and CPI(M) are cadre-based parties, but there's a major difference between the two. Cadre welfare is bigger than the state's development in Kerala while it is Viksit Keralam above cadre for BJP. It's more important to make BJP state office a centre of Vikasit Kerala than having CM in government."

Ahead of his arrival in the state, Shah posted on social media platform X, stating: "Keen to meet the booth Karyakartas of the state. Tomorrow, will inaugurate the Kerala BJP office in Thiruvananthapuram. Will attend the 'Viksit Keralam Sammelan' in the afternoon. Looking forward to meeting the people."
