During the rally, Shah also slammed the previous state governments and said that Mufti and company, Abdullah, and sons were in power here but they did not provide housing for the homeless people.

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah paused his speech for 'Azaan' during his public rally in north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Wednesday. While addressing a rally in Baramulla, Shah said that increasing tourism in Jammu and Kashmir has given employment to a number of youths.

Shah, who is on a three-day tour to Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday said that Baramulla was a terrorist hotspot, but now it's a tourism hotspot.

“Earlier, this was a terrorist hotspot, now it's a tourism hotspot. Increasing tourism in J&K has given employment to a number of youths here,” news agency ANI quoted Amit Shah as saying.

During the rally, Shah also slammed the previous state governments and said that Mehbooba Mufti and company, Abdullah, and their sons were in power but they did not provide housing for the homeless people.

“For the last 70 yrs, Mufti & Company, Abdullah & sons were in power here but didn't provide housing for the 1 lakh homeless people. Modi ji gave homes to these 1 lakh people between 2014-2022,” ANI quoted Shah as saying during the public rally.

Shah also praised Narendra Modi’s model of governance during the rally and said that his model of governance has brought development and employment and the Gupkar model has offered stones and guns in hands of the youth.

“Modi Ji's model of governance brings development and employment. While the Gupkar model offers stones and guns in hands of the youth. There is a lot of difference between Modi's model and Gupkar's model,” ANI quoted Shah as saying.

Talking about Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Shah said that as soon as the work of compiling the voters' list is completed, elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir with full transparency.

“As soon as the work of compiling the voters' list is completed, elections will be held in J&K with full transparency,” ANI quoted Shah as saying.

Shah, during the rally also said people say, we should talk to Pakistan, we say will talk to the people of Kashmir. "We want to wipe out terrorism from Jammu & Kashmir so that it remains the heaven of India. People say, we should talk to Pakistan, we say will talk to the people of Kashmir," ANI quoted Shah  as saying during the rally.
