Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu Invites PM Modi To Amaravati Capital Relaunch Event On May 2
Amaravati Capital Relaunch event is scheduled to take place in Velagapudi village, where Prime Minister Modi is expected to lay foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 65,000 crore.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, accompanied by senior cabinet ministers and officials, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to extend a formal invitation for the relaunch ceremony of Amaravati as the state’s capital. The high-profile event is scheduled to take place in Velagapudi village, where the Prime Minister is expected to lay foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 65,000 crore.
Naidu, joined by Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu and Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, briefed the Prime Minister on the large-scale preparations underway. These include a major roadshow featuring an estimated 30,000 participants and a public rally expected to draw nearly five lakh attendees.
During the meeting, Naidu also presented a detailed roadmap for Amaravati’s development over the next three years, highlighting infrastructure plans and the phased implementation of capital region projects.
The Prime Minister’s Office later confirmed the meeting on X (formerly Twitter), posting: “Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri @ncbn, met Prime Minister @narendramodi.”
As part of the Amaravati relaunch event, PM Modi is set to unveil a commemorative plaque and formally mark the restart of the capital city's construction—an ambitious project that had faced years of delays.
'Amaravati Is Restarting': Chandrababu Naidu
On the visit, Chandrababu Naidu said, "Amaravati is restarting. The construction for our Praja Rajadhani will resume soon, renewing hope and marking a historic milestone in our state's journey to a prosperous future. Today, on behalf of the people of Andhra Pradesh, I extended a warm invitation to Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji to join us in Amaravati to commemorate this special moment and inaugurate a fresh chapter of development."
"The Hon'ble PM also shared his visionary suggestions for our capital city, and we will implement them to build a world-class capital. During the meeting, I also apprised him of the key development projects in Andhra Pradesh and thanked him for the Union Government's continued support," he said.
