Allu Arjun's Father Visits Boy Injured In Hyderabad Stampede, Assures Support
Allu Aravind clarified that the actor had planned to visit Sritej a day after the incident but refrained based on advice from the hospital and his legal team due to ongoing police investigations.
Amid controversies surrounding 'Pushpa 2' stampede and legal repercussions, Allu Aravind, film producer and father of Telugu actor Allu Arjun, on Wednesday visited the eight-year-old boy who suffered critical injuries in the stampede and has since been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad. The child, Sritej, sustained severe injuries during the premiere of 'Pushpa 2' on December 4.
After the visit, Aravind mentioned that the doctors had reported progress in Sritej’s condition. However, they cautioned that the recovery process would be lengthy. He commended the Telangana government for taking responsibility for the boy’s medical expenses and extended gratitude to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the police and hospital staff for their cooperation.
When asked about Allu Arjun’s absence, Aravind clarified that the actor had planned to visit Sritej a day after the incident but refrained based on advice from the hospital and his legal team due to ongoing police investigations. "Our legal team strongly advised Allu Arjun not to visit the hospital or meet the boy’s parents due to the pending police case. Since he couldn't go, he felt that I should visit on his behalf," Aravind explained, as per a report on PTI.
A medical bulletin released by the hospital revealed, "Today, Sritej underwent a tracheostomy tube placement. The procedure was uneventful. He remains afebrile and is maintaining normal vital parameters with low-dose inotropes. However, his neurological status remains unchanged."
Allu Arjun had earlier expressed his concern through a post on X (formerly Twitter), wishing the boy a speedy recovery and explaining his absence.
Meanwhile, the stampede claimed the life of Sritej’s 35-year-old mother, while the boy sustained life-threatening injuries. In the aftermath, Hyderabad Police registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
