After Mamata, Nitish Kumar And Akhilesh To Skip I.N.D.I.A Bloc Meet On Dec 6

After Mamata, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav will also be skipping the I.N.D.I.A bloc's meeting in Delhi on Dec 6.

After Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee decided to skip the I.N.D.I.A bloc meeting on December 6, two other prominent leaders joined suit. Now, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav would also not be present at the huddle being held after the Congress's poor show at the recently held state assembly elections. Mamata Banerjee said she won't attend the meeting due to prior engagements in North Bengal. However, it is not clear yet why the Bihar CM will be not present at the meeting. Meanwhile, SP spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said Akhilesh Yadav had no plans to attend the INDIA bloc meeting in Delhi on Wednesday, without citing any reason.

The meeting, reportedly scheduled at the residence of Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, is aimed at devising a strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing reporters outside Raj Bhawan, the Bengal CM said, "I will be visiting North Bengal from December 6 to December 11. I was not aware of the meeting date on December 6. Had I known about the meeting date beforehand, then I could have rescheduled my visit."

Meanwhile, reacting to her comment, Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said Mamata's attitude was similar before the elections to what it is today. "There were elections in five states but she never appealed to the people to vote for Opposition to defeat BJP..." he said.

However, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said the leaders and parties in the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) are together and would fight against all issues related to farmers, women's safety, unemployment, and many others.

"We will look into this matter and adjust things. We will make all possible arrangements for the early conducting of the meeting..." she told ANI.
