ABP News-C Voter Opinion Poll 2021: As rising mercury announces the arrival of summer, electioneering in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry have made sure the season will be at its peak for a long time. Assembly Elections for the 4 states and 1 UT was announced by the Election Commissioner of India (ECI) on February 26, since then speculations have been rife which party or alliance will topple or retain the crown of Chief Ministership.

As ABP and C-Voter conducted an opinion poll to understand the nerves of the people, let us have a look at the perception and thought process as per the survey.
West Bengal Assembly Polls 2021: Perception & Intention
ABP News and C-Voter in their latest survey observed a significant gap between the actual voters' intention and perception of the winner in West Bengal Assembly Polls. While BJP has been leading the war of perception and winnability so far, it is the TMC that has gained some points in perception as well.

In West Bengal, on being asked whom will they vote for if the Assembly Election is held today, nearly 44% of people showed faith in TMC, followed by BJP at 38.4%, Congress and Left Alliance bagging almost 13% and others or unsure voters pegged at 5.5% of the votes.
ABP Opinion Poll: TMC Still Top Choice In West Bengal
However, when the same respondents were asked if they cast away their bias and irrespective of whichever party they support, which party they think will win the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021, the margin for TMC dipped by 1.6%.
So 43.4% of respondents who agreed to vote for TMC, however, have a lack of faith when it came to their actual belief if TMC can come into power as it amounted to 41.8%.
Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry Assembly Elections 2021: Perception & Intention
As per the ABP News and C-Voter survey in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry there is no contradiction observed as far as the actual voting and perception of winning is concerned. In fact, in all these places the perception of winning goes further up for the leading party in actual vote share.
Tamil Nadu
43.7% of respondents said they will vote for the UPA alliance (DMK + Congress + Others). When it came to believing if the MK Stalin-led alliance has a reasonable chance to win the state assembly election, nearly 48% of respondents without any bias have faith that DMK will come on top trumping the ruling AIADMK.

Kerala
As per the ABP News and C-Voter survey, it appears that for the first time in Kerala State Assembly Election history the ruling party (alliance) will come back to power again. While 42.9% of respondents said they will vote for LDF, overall 44% of respondents, when asked to reply without bias, believe the Pinari Vijayan government will retain its throne in the state Assembly.

Assam
In Assam, NDA has gained faith from respondents to vote them back for another term while the UPA has lost the perception and intention battle by nearly 10%. As 42.2% of respondents said they will vote for the UPA but overall only 32.3% of respondents believe that they can win the Assam Assembly Elections.

Puducherry
The alliance of AINRC, BJP and ADMK are leading the respondents choice in vote share percentage at 45.4. Meanwhile, 49.4% of the respondents believe that, irrespective of the party they support, NDA will win in the upcoming Assembly Elections.
