1. Two Playing XI Combinations at the Toss

One of SA20's most innovative rules allows captains to name two possible playing XI combinations before the toss. Depending on whether they are batting or bowling first, the captain can finalize the lineup after the toss.

Currently, IPL has the impact player rule, which lets teams name five substitute players who can be strategically introduced during the game. However, players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have expressed concerns that this rule has occasionally made matches one-sided. 2. Bonus Point System

In Indian Premier League (IPL), teams earn 2 points for each league-stage victory, with no extra rewards for outstanding performances. In contrast, SA20 awards 4 points for a win and an additional bonus point if a team achieves a net run rate 1.25 times higher than their opponents. This system not only rewards dominant performances but also adds excitement to matches where bonus points are up for grabs.
