Delhi Elections: BJP Releases Second List, Kapil Mishra, Ex-AAP Leader Priyanka Gautam Among 29 Candidates

BJP released its second list, fielding Kapil Mishra in Karawal Nagar, Harish Khurana in Moti Nagar, and Raj Karan Khatri in Narela. Former AAP leader Priyanka Gautam has been fielded from Kondli seat.

Delhi Elections 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday released its second list of 29 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections scheduled next month. Former AAP leader Priyanka Gautam, who recently joined BJP, has been fielded from Kondli Assembly seat.

According to the latest list, Kapil Mishra has been fielded from Karawal Nagar, Harish Khurana from Moti Nagar, and Raj Karan Khatri has been fielded in Narela. The saffron party is expected to soon release the names of 12 remaining candidates.

Kapil Mishra will face AAP leader Manoj Tyagi and Congress candidate PK Mishra while Khurana will be contesting against AAP’s Shiv Charan Goel and Congress leader Rajendra Namdhari.

Moreover, Tilak Ram Gupta has been named from Trinagar, Gajendra Daral from Mundka, Karan Singh Karma from Sultanpur Mahra, Shweta Saini from Tilak Nagar, and Satish Kain from Chandni Chowk.

Bajrang Shukla will be contesting the Delhi elections from Kirari, Surya Prakash Khatri from Timarpur,  Shyam Sharma from Hari Nagar, and Pankaj Kumar Singh from Vikaspuri among others.

The first list of 29 candidates was released by the party on January 4. BJP has fielded former MP Parvesh Verma against former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from the New Delhi seat. Meanwhile, former MP Ramesh Bidhuri has been pitted against Delhi Chief Minister Atishi in Kalkaji. Turncoat Kailash Gahlot, who recently joined the BJP after accusing AAP of “diluted values and principles" has been named a candidate from the Bijwasan seat.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has released the names of all its candidates who will be contesting on the 70 seats in Delhi Assembly elections.

Voting for the Delhi Assembly elections will take place on February 5 in a single phase while the counting of votes will take place on February 8.
