Karnataka: PM Modi Is 'Good', Say 47.4% People, But CM Bommai Gets 'Poor' Rating In ABP CVoter Survey

ABP's CVoter survey found 47.4 per cent of people gave PM Modi's performance a 'Good' rating, but PM Bommai received a 'Poor' rating as Karnataka is headed for election on May 10.

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi fetched a 'good' rating from 47.4 per cent of people, Karnataka Chief Minister Bommai got a 'poor' rating from 46.9 per cent of the people.

The Election Commission on Wednesday announced the schedule for the crucial Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023. The state will vote in a single phase on May 10 and the results will be declared on May 13.

The gazette notification will be issued on April 13 and the last date for filing nominations will be April 20. The date for scrutiny of nominations has been set for April 21 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature will be April 24.

At a time when the stage seems to be divided and the opposition claims a strong incumbency against the ruling BJP government in the state in which the saffron party exudes confidence in coming back to power, ABP News in partnership with CVoter conducted a survey asking people to rate the performances of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister and Basavaraj Bommai as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. 

Here's how PM Modi and CM Bommai fared in the survey.

47.4% Give PM Modi Good Rating

Out of 24,759 people surveyed, 47.4 per cent of people appeared to be satisfied with the performance of the prime minister and gave him a 'good' rating. While 33.8 per cent of the people gave him a 'poor' rating and 18.8 per cent gave him an 'average' rating.

46.9% Give CM Bommai Poor Rating

While the prime minister fetched a 'good' rating, Karnataka Chief Minister got a 'poor' rating from 46.9 per cent of the people. While 26.3 per cent gave CM Bommai an 'average' rating, 26.8 per cent of the people seemed to be satisfied with his performance and give him a 'good' rating.

The incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party, looking for a second term in the state, has currently 119 MLAs in the Assembly while Congress has 75, and ally Janata Dal (Secular) has 28 legislators.

As the poll dates draw close, all three political parties began the spate of allegations and counter-allegations with the Congress and JD(S) trying to corner the government on the issue of corruption. 

Meanwhile, the BJP, led by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, aims to return to power in the state and has been stressing the Kannadiga issue and the recent decision to grant reservation to Lingayat and Vokkaliga communities by scrapping a religion-based reservation for the Muslim community.
