AAP to hold PAC meeting today, decision may be taken to expel Kapil Mishra: Sources
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday will hold its PAC meeting at 7 pm in the national capital.
The decision may be taken to expel rebel leader Kapil Mishra from the party, said sources.
Meanwhile, party termed bribery allegations against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as a part of a "big conspiracy being hatched against AAP by BJP through Kapil Mishra". Addressing the media, Senior leader Sanjay Singh said Mishra is speaking the language of BJP.
"No question of Kejriwal's resignation. The entire party stands united in his support. Mishra's allegations are baseless," said AAP.
Earlier Mishra, who alleged he was an "eyewitness" to Satyendar Jain handing over Rs 2 crore cash to Kejriwal, said that he will approach the ACB on Monday to share all "evidence".
He said he will give names of two persons --Ashish Talwar and Vibhav Patel-- to the ACB in connection with tanker scam. He affirmed people will believe his claims once Jain goes to jail.
Mishra on Sunday accused Kejriwal of taking Rs 2 crore from his cabinet colleague Satyendar Jain. He said he has given a statement to Lt Governor Anil Baijal regarding various irregularities seen by him during his tenure as minister in Kejriwal's cabinet.
"I saw with my own eyes Satyendar Jain giving Rs 2 crore in cash to Arvind Kejriwal at his residence. When I asked Kejriwal, he said such things happen in politics and it will be revealed later," he alleged.
Mishra said he would be at the ACB office at 11 AM on Monday to share "all evidence".
However, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia defended the Chief Minister.
"The kind of allegations that have been made against Kejriwal are unsubstantiated. No one will believe them," Sisodia told the media. "There is no substance in this allegation."
Sisodia said the allegations came just after Mishra was told he was being removed as minister.
Senior AAP leader Kumar Vishwas said even the worst enemies of Kejriwal can't imagine him to be corrupt.
