AAP MP Alleges PM Modi Ordered Kejriwal's Arrest; I.N.D.I.A Bloc To Protest In Parliament On Monday

AAP MP Sanjay Singh accused PM Narendra Modi of directing the CBI to arrest Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. He also claimed that ED obtained an unconstitutional stay on Kejriwal's bail from the High Court.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh on Sunday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of directing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to arrest Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Singh's allegations come amid a controversy over the Enforcement Direcorate's "actions" against Kejriwal, which he described as "unfounded" and "lacking evidence". Singh stated that the Rouse Avenue Court had cleared Kejriwal of any wrongdoing and slammed the ED for acting with "malicious intent".

He also claimed that ED obtained an unconstitutional stay on Kejriwal's bail from the High Court.

"The parties of the I.N.D.I.A bloc had unanimously decided that we would protest against the misuse of ED and CBI in the Parliament premises tomorrow at 10.30 AM," Singh said.

"The court (Rouse Avenue Court) said in its order that ED has no evidence against Arvind Kejriwal and it is working with malicious intent. ED has no money trail against Arvind Kejriwal, no evidence, no recovery of money and hence Arvind Kejriwal is innocent," Singh said while addressing a press conference today.

"In the meantime, ED people reached the High Court in an unconstitutional, illegal manner without taking a copy of the order and got a stay on that bail...Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI on the instructions of the Central Government, PM Modi," the Aam Aadmi Party MP added.

BJP Reacts

In response, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva denied all allegations, asserting that central agencies are simply performing their duties and that courts decide based on evidence. "If you've committed a crime, be prepared to face consequences," Sachdeva told ANI, also accusing the AAP government of corruption.

The Delhi Court has remanded Chief Minister Kejriwal to CBI custody until July 12 in the excise policy case. The BJP welcomes the decision, while AAP labelled it a "conspiracy".

Parliament Set For Heated Debate On Monday

Both Houses of Parliament are set for intense debates on Monday over issues including the NEET paper leak controversy, inflation, and the Agnipath scheme. The Opposition had pushed for an immediate discussion on NEET last Friday, but the government rejected the demand.

The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha will conclude on July 3.
