AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan Kept Weapons, Cash In House: Arrested Business Partner Informs ACB

Hamid Ali Khan, a close aide to AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan, revealed to the ACB that Amanatullah stored guns and money in his home and that all of the transactions were carried out per his directions.

New Delhi: Hamid Ali Khan, a close aide to AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan, informed the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) that the AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan stored guns and money in his home and all the transactions were carried out as per his directions, news agency ANI reported.

This development comes hours after Hamid Ali, a business associate of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan, was arrested by South East Delhi Police for violating the Arms Act. The ACB conducted a raid on his house along with Amanatullah Khan's properties on Friday. A pistol, some ammunition, and Rs 12 lakhs worth cash were found at Hamid Ali's home.

The ACB arrested Khan after searching the houses of the MLA and his aides in Delhi's Batla House, Zakir Nagar, and Jamia Nagar and finding evidence and damning documents against them. In total, two illegal weapons and Rs 24 lakh in cash were confiscated by the anti-corruption agency during searches at four different sites.

Charges on Khan

Khan was summoned by ACB in connection to a case involving suspected financial misappropriation and other irregularities in the operation of the Delhi Waqf Board, which Khan leads as its chairman. An FIR has already been lodged in relation to the alleged misconduct in the board.

In a statement released on Friday, the ACB said that Khan had illegally hired 32 persons while acting as the chairman of the Delhi Waqf Board. This was done in defiance of all norms and guidelines of the government. Allegedly he was also engaged in corruption and favouritism.

Condemnation Of The Former CEO of Delhi Waqf Board On The Illegal Hiring

A memorandum issued by the then-CEO of the Delhi Waqf Board condemns the unlawful recruiting and made a clear declaration. The southeast district has received two FIRs from the ACB about the seizure of illicit firearms.
