8 Yrs Of Prime Ministership: Narendra Modi Likely To Address 'Historic Rally' In Shimla On May 31

Kashyap stated in a statement that the event will be historic and attended by a big number of people to commemorate Modi's eight years as Prime Minister of India.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address a public meeting in Shimla on May 31, commemorating his eighth anniversary  in power, Himachal Pradesh BJP chief Suresh Kashyap said on Saturday, news agency PTI reported.

Kashyap stated in a statement that the event will be historic and attended by a big number of people to commemorate Modi's eight years as Prime Minister of India.

Earlier on Wednesday, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to organize a national-level celebration in HP to commemorate the NDA government's eight years in power.

Thakur, who met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday, said Himachal Pradesh will be pleased to host this national-level event, to which all districts of the country would be invited.

In inviting the Prime Minister to visit Himachal Pradesh, Thakur also expressed thanks for his unique fondness for the state and its people, as well as his assistance for the state administration in every form for the state's rapid growth, PTI reported.

In his remark, HP BJP president Kashyap, who is also a Shimla MP, added that Modi considers Himachal Pradesh to be his second home.

On December 27, the Prime Minister visited Himachal Pradesh to address a rally at the Paddal venue in the chief minister's home district of Mandi to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the state's Jai Ram Thakur-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration.

BJP activists in Himachal Pradesh are already ecstatic about the party's recent assembly election victories in four states, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur, he said, adding that they will gain momentum following Modi's projected visit to Shimla.

Kashyap stated that BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda had already concluded his tour to the state's four parliamentary seats in the previous month.

"Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari will also visit the hill state soon," he added.

The state BJP president said that the BJP will again form a government in HP after the next elections, which are scheduled for later this year, but that no changes will be made in the state party unit because it is in election mode.
