7th Pay Commission: Salary hiked for 2.5 lakh government employees; Pension revised in this state!

7th Pay Commission: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Tripura announced the hike on Tuesday, fulfilling the major pre-poll promise.

7th Pay Commission: In a good news for about 2.5 lakh government employees, Tripura government has revised the salary of state employees and also the pension of retired officials at par with the recommendations made in the 7th Central Pay Commission. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Tripura announced it on Tuesday, fulfilling the major pre-poll promise of hiking the salaries of the government employees. Announcing the decision at the state secretariat, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said that the revised pay scale will come into effect from October 1. The state committee today welcomed the decision of the state government in regard to implementing the pay hike recommendation similar to 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC). CM of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb took to Twitter and said, "Recommendations made for implementation of 7th Pay Commission (CPC) in #Tripura have been accepted in a Special Cabinet Meeting held in #Agartala today. Extend deepest gratitude to PM @narendramodi ji, @AmitShah ji & @arunjaitley ji for their unwavering support. #7CPCinTripura."
The decision to hike salaries of the employees came after the committee of experts headed by former Assam Chief Secretary PP Varma submitted the report to the state government on the implementation of the same. Later according to the CM, after examining the report the government decided to incorporate its suggestions and a new formula was prepared. The recommendations were submitted to the government on Friday and were accepted on Tuesday in a special Cabinet meeting presided over by the CM. Earlier this year, the BJP had made several promises in the run-up to the Assembly polls in Tripura and implementing the 7th Central Pay Commission was one of them that the party had highlighted at length.
