50% Of Population In 9 States Given Single Dose Vaccine - Check Status Of BJP And Non-BJP Ruled States
Uttar Pradesh is the state where the highest doses of vaccines have been given. But in terms of population, UP lags behind. The highest number of doses(5.63 crore doses) have been given in the UP.
New Delhi: A total of 530 million vaccine doses have been given across the country so far. At least 410 million people have taken the first dose of the vaccine. 30 percent of India's population has been given the first dose, while 9 per cent of people have taken both doses. There are 9 states in the country where 50 percent of the population has received the first dose. These states are Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh.
UP Lags Behind
BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh is the state where the highest doses of vaccine have been given. But in terms of population, UP lags behind. The highest number of doses(5.63 crore doses) have been given in the UP. But only 31 percent of the population has been given the first dose. More people have been vaccinated in West Bengal, Bihar, Punjab, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra have been vaccinated than in UP.
Himachal Pradesh Leads
Himachal Pradesh has vaccinated a maximum adult population of 77 percent. This is followed by 66 percent in Jammu and Kashmir, 64 percent in Uttarakhand, 60 percent in Gujarat, 55 percent in Madhya Pradesh, 54 percent in Karnataka, 54 percent in Kerala, 52 percent in Rajasthan, and 50 percent in Chhattisgarh.
