Biden Can't Roam Mask-Free, But Indians Can, Thanks To PM Modi: Nadda
Ahead of the Gujarat elections in December, BJP national president JP Nadda said that PM Narendra Modi's efforts to eradicate Covid have enabled people to move around without masks.
BJP President JP Nadda on Thursday said Indians were able to move without masks only because of PM Narendra Modi’s efforts. Addressing a rally in Bharuch, Gujarat, he said US President Biden Joe Biden still roams around wearing a mask but Indians are able to move around freely.
“All this has become possible because of PM Modi. Many in the US and Europe are yet to get even two doses of Covid vaccines while everyone in India is getting booster doses,” Nadda said. “The world's economy slowed down due to Covid, but India emerged as the fifth-largest economy, leaving Britain behind. Earlier, aircraft manufacturing was concentrated in the US, Germany, and Europe. We could not even imagine that India would ever make aircraft. Now, C-295 aircraft will be made in Vadodara,” he said.

‘Congress Only Instigated Fights’
Nadda said that the Congress’s culture was one of instigating fights. “You will see in its 70 years of rule, Congress has just instigated fights between brothers and among castes and societies. But PM Modi has brought about the culture of sabka saath, sabka vikas sabka vishwas, and sabka prayas (collective effort, development, trust).”

JP Nadda's Attack On AAP
The BJP president also said that people can’t remember the last time electricity was available in households before Narendra Modi became the Chief Minister of Gujarat. “ Now, people can’t remember the last time power went out in their homes,” he said. Targeting AAP, he said, “It is a party that only puts up banners and posters. AAP fought for 350 seats in Uttar Pradesh and forfeited the deposits on 349 seats. It contested 69 seats in Uttarakhand and forfeited deposits on 65. Similarly, it fought for 39 seats in Goa and forfeited deposits on 35,” Nadda said.
Nadda's attack on the Congress and the AAP comes right before the Gujarat polls. Elections to the 182-member Gujarat Assembly will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5, while votes will be counted on December 8. The results will be declared the same day.
