New Delhi: The wait is finally over! Apple Inc. on Tuesday evening launched the much-awaited iPhone 12 in its mega annual event along with series of other products and services. The US-based tech giant has launched as many as 4 variants of the iconic iPhone 12, all powered by the new A14 Bionic chipset. The revealed the models of iPhone 12 in a virtual annual meeting which was delayed due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Usually, Apple introduces its flagship iPhones in September every year. The event was started by Apple CEO Tim Cook announcing the all new HomePod mini, one of the most affordable version of the HomePod smart speaker powered by Siri. Cook then went ahead to announce iPhone 12 series which comes with a massive revelation that Apple is bringing 5G to its phones for the first time. iPhone 12 specifications Apple unveiled the iPhone 12 in five new and fresh colours including blue, red, black, white and green. The flagship phone comes with a 6.1-inch screen with Super Retina XDR OLED display which the company claimed to be one of the most durable and best screens ever. It also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10. Apart from that, iPhone 12 is also supported with Ceramic Sheild that makes the phone durable than its previous models. The all-new iPhone 12 offers 4 times better drop performance and is powered by A14 Bionic chipset. While announcing that iPhones are now going to come with 5G support, Cook said that this is the beginning of a new era for iPhone. The new 5G iPhone 12 variants will let you browse the web faster and in a more efficient manner. In the US, Verizon users can access 5G speeds when using the iPhone 12. Apple's A14 Bionic is made using 5nm process. It is said to be 70% faster than last year's A13 Bionic. Apple also says that this chipset can deliver ‘console’ level gaming experience. The charging process of iPhone 12 is also improving this time. Apple has introduced "MagSafe wireless charging system" for iPhones. Customers can use the accessories that attach to the new iPhones using magnets for easy charging. iPhone 12 cameras iPhone 12 comes with 12MP ultra wide camera + 12MP wide angle lens. The company claims that camera of the iPhone 12 will be able to click stunning pictures even in low light. Apple said it has also improved the Night mode which now comes in both front and rear cameras across all iPhone 12 models. iPhone 12 price Apple launches iPhone 12 at a starting price of $799 (roughly Rs 79,900 in India) while the iPhone 12 Mini starts at a lower price tag of $699 (roughly Rs 69,900). Meanwhile, iPhone 12 Pro to cost onward of Rs 1,19,900 in India, iPhone 12 Pro Max from Rs 1,29,900 Pre-order/ shipping details The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini will be shipping starting 13 November. The pre-order for the phones will open on 6 November. The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be available for pre-order starting 16 October
