ED, CBI And I-T Dept Take Action Against People, And They Get Clean After Joining BJP: Mumbai Mayor

“ED, CBI and Income Tax Dept take action against people and if they join BJP, they get clean,” the Mumbai mayor alleged.

New Delhi: Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar, on Monday, targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party saying that central agencies like ED and CBI take action against people, but if they join BJP, then the person comes out clean, reports news agency ANI.

“ED, CBI and Income Tax Dept take action against people and if they join BJP, they get clean,” the mayor alleged.

Referring to BJP MLA Nitesh Rane’s reported remark where he said “will show you if you remove Police force for 24 hours”, Pednekar said, “We can also show you if you remove ED-CBI for 24 hours. However, we work in a democratic manner and we will continue to work that way.”

The banter between BJP’s Union Minister Narayan Rane and Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar comes ahead of BMC elections that are scheduled to take place in April this year.

On Saturday, Narayan Rane and his son and BJP MLA Nitesh Rane appeared before the Mumbai Police where they were interrogated for nine hours in connection with Disha Salian death case.

Narayan Rane alleged that Pednekar had provoked Sailan’s mother after which she filed a defamation case.

"We were released only after I called Amit Shah. Our statement was recorded then that Disha Salian did not die by suicide but was murdered. Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar provoked Disha Salian's mother after which she complained stating defamation," said the Union Minister while leaving Malvani Police Station after nine hours of interrogation.
