Ducati Launches ‘Ducati Link’ Smartphone App

With the app, riders can now record their travel routes, create a highlight and share it with other bikers

Ducati Launches ‘Ducati Link’ Smartphone App

Just days after the launch of the Multistrada 1260, Ducati has launched a companion app to make motorcycle touring experiences more intuitive. Available on both Android and iOS platforms, “Ducati Link” communicates with the Multistrada’s onboard unit to record information like power delivery, lean angle and acceleration. Afterwards, you can check all aspects of the ride you just had using the data collected by the application.

The rider can also customize different riding modes: ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) directly from the smartphone. For added practicality, it also notifies riders of their next service date, stores owner's manual and locates nearby Ducati store.

Then there’re the functions that don’t require you to be the owner of a Multistrada. You can record various travel routes and create a highlight. The app also allows you to integrate photos and comments, which can be used later to share with other bikers.

The Italian marque partnered up with technology firm e-Novia from Milan to develop the 'Ducati Link App.' While the idea sounds promising, it remains to be seen how practical it turns out for Indian customers. For now, the Ducati Link app is limited only to the Multistrada 1260 family. However, the company has stated that it will extend it to other models as well.

Press Release:

New Ducati Link App: bikes become social

Bologna, Italy, 20 June 2018 – It’s called the Ducati Link App, and it’s the new Smartphone

application developed by the Bologna-based motorbike manufacturer in partnership with e-Novia, the “Enterprises Factory” from Milan that sets up and develops hi-tech companies.

Ducati Link was created with three fundamental pleasures of biking in mind. The relationship that each biker has with his machine: using Bluetooth technology, the application connects to the bike and, while riding, records information supplied by the on-board control unit such as speed, lean angle, power delivery and acceleration. Then, at the end of the ride, the rider can check aspects of his performance, analysing the evolution of the data over the course of the Journey. The journey and the discovery of new roads: using the smartphone’s GPS, the Ducati Link App records the route travelled and, by allowing you to integrate photos and comments, enables the rider to relive the highlights of his experience.
