Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Thanks Central Government For Increasing City's Oxygen Quota Amid Shortage

Significantly, this development comes after the Delhi government had informed about the serious oxygen crisis in the national capital.

In what comes as a big relief for Delhi's hospitals and Covid-19 positive patients struggling with oxygen deficiency, Central government has decided to increase the quota of medical oxygen to the city.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter to thank the Central government for increasing city's oxygen quota this regard. The Central Government has increased the oxygen quota of Delhi from 378 metric ton per day to 480 metric ton every day.

"Central govt has increased Delhi's quota of oxygen. We r very grateful to centre for this, tweeted CM Kejriwal.

Significantly, this development comes after the Delhi government had informed about the serious oxygen crisis in the national capital. In a press conference, CM Kejriwal's deputy and AAP had informed the situation is very bad in the city and the Center should increase the quota of oxygen as many hospitals were facing oxygen crisis.

"We again demand that the Centre increase our oxygen quota to 700 MT in view of the increased consumption. Patients from several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, are admitted in city hospitals," Sisodia had said in the press conference.

Earlier on Tuesday, CM Kejriwal took to Twitter saying, "Serious oxygen crisis persists in Delhi. I again urge centre to urgently provide oxygen to Delhi. Some hospitals are left with just a few hours of oxygen."

"There are around 300 COVID-19 patients admitted to the hospital. There is a limit of only two hours of oxygen supply. We are struggling and seek immediate help. Oxygen supplier Linde India has stopped our supply," a hospital official of Sir Ganga Ram City Hospital had told news agency ANI today.
