Delhi Air Pollution: Delhi's Air Quality Improves Slightly Today, AQI Reaches 293

Delhi Air Pollution Update: Due to festivals and stubble burning in and around Delhi, people were breathing poisonous air in early November.

Delhi Air Pollution Update: Delhi recorded a decline in air pollution due to changing weather conditions. Though Delhi is still not able to get rid of polluted air completely, the city's air quality has improved slightly. According to the SAFAR report, the AQI in Delhi today was 293, which falls under the 'poor' category. Meanwhile, the matter will also be heard in the Supreme Court today.

If the Air Quality Index (AQI) is between 0 and 50, it is placed in a 'good' category. Air quality is 'satisfactory' between 51 and 100 and 'moderate' between 101 and 200. If the AQI is marked between 201 and 300, it falls into the 'poor' category. Between 301 and 400, air quality is considered 'very poor'. If the levels go further up to 401 and 500 then it comes under the 'severe' category.

People were inhaling poisonous air in early November due to festivals and stubble burning in and around Delhi. But the air quality has improved to some extent due to changes in weather conditions.

Supreme Court hearing on pollution

The Supreme Court will be hearing the matter on pollution in Delhi-NCR today. After last week's hearing, the central government had constituted 40 flying squads and an enforcement task force. The court will today take cognizance of the report prepared on the action taken in the case. At the same time, the court is also expected to consider lifting the ban on construction work in Delhi and surrounding areas. In the previous hearing, the court had ordered to put unnecessary construction works on hold due to rising pollution levels in Delhi.
