Chennai Air Customs Seizes Narcotic Pills Worth Rs 5.25 Arrived From Netherlands & France

105 MDMA tablets worth Rs 5.25 lakh were seized from two parcels arrived from the Netherlands & France at Chennai International Airport today.

Chennai: Chennai Air Customs have seized two postal parcels containing MDMA-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine narcotic pills valued at about Rs 5.25 lakh on June 30.

In a statement issued, the Commissioner of Customs, Chennai International Airport said based on information, officials seized two postal parcels containing MDMA tablets from Netherlands and France at Foreign Post Office here.

The first parcel came from the Netherlands and was addressed to a person based in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur. 

On opening the parcel, it read, "HOERA! JIJ BENT JARIG" written in Dutch meaning "HURRAY! IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY" was found inside.

Inside the greeting card one opaque silver plastic pouch containing a ziplock packet was found in which 50 blue coloured tablets marked as "Jurassis", suspected to be MDMA, valued at Rs 2.5 lakh were found inside.

The second packet had arrived from France and was addressed to a person based in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu.

The ziplock packet contained 55 skull-shaped pink colour MDMA tablets of 'MB MYBRAND' valued at Rs 2.75 lakh were found inside.

Chennai Airport Customs seized the narcotic pills and booked a cases under the NDPS Act 1985.
