Welcome to the ABP LIVE live blog for Saturday, February 6, 2021: Heavy security has been deployed at the national capital as the protesting farmers have called for a nationwide 'chakka jam' (road blockade) protest for three hours today. The three-hour chakka jam will take place between 12 pm - 3 pm across the country.

BJP national president JP Nadda will launch the two-day roadshow, 'paribartan yatra' (journey for change), at Nabadwip, known as one of the most sacred places for Hindu pilgrims, at around 3 pm. Nadda's mega roadshow will pass through all 15 assembly constituencies in Nadia in two days. 

West Bengal can witness massive chaos at Nadia district as Trinamool Congress will also launch its biggest rally in the district with 10,000 motorcycles and tableaus.

 The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in a tweet urged Farmers and authorities to "exercise maximum restraint"and emphasized that it is crucial to find "equitable solutions" with due respect to human rights for all. 

In the ongoing India Vs England Day Test match, Day 2 will see Ben Stokes and in-form Jos Buttler who will look forward to score as many runs as possible and post a huge first innings score.

The Oscar award-winning actor Christopher Plummer, who is popular for his role in the musical film, ‘The Sound Of Music’, passed away at the age of 91. Reportedly, the ‘The Last Station’ actor died peacefully at his home in Connecticut with his wife Elaine Taylor by his side.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) informed that a total of 20,06,72,589 samples tested for #COVID19 up to 5th February. Of these, 7,40,794 samples were tested yesterday.

Over 56 Lakh Inoculated With Covid-19 Vaccine, No Serious AEFI: Health Ministry

Over 56 lakh people have been inoculated till now and there has been no case of serious or severe adverse event following vaccination or death attributable to the vaccination till date, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday. Of the 56,36,868 beneficiaries vaccinated, Additional Secretary in the Union health ministry Manohar Agnani said 52,66,175 are healthcare workers and 3,70,693 are frontline workers whose vaccination started on February 2.

Delhi-Jaipur Highway Blocked During Chakka Jam In Rajasthan

Farmers in Rajasthan blocked many national and state highways for three hours on Saturday, from 12pm to 3 pm, demanding the withdrawal of three farm laws and protesting against the internet ban near their protest sites and alleged harassment by authorities, among other issues.

The Congress government had already extended its support to farmers. Following orders from the AICC, Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara on Friday directed all party officials to fully cooperate in making the highway jam a success, after which Congress leaders took to the streets for the chakka jam.
