Eknath Shinde-Led Maharashtra Govt To Face Floor Test
The Uddhav Thackeray-led Aghadi government had collapsed after heavy political upheaval and the split of Shiv Sena can be seen in Maharashtra. After this, under the leadership of rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, his faction and the BJP together formed a new government. The Shinde government will seek a trust vote in the Assembly on Monday. On the very first day of the special session on Sunday, the Shinde-led BJP government got a big victory in the election of the speaker. BJP's Rahul Narvekar has been elected speaker.
Shinde, who also had the support of independents -- taking the total number to 50 -- formed the government with the BJP, which has 106 MLAs in the House.
A party or alliance needs 145 MLAs to prove a majority in the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann To Expand Cabinet
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will expand his cabinet on Monday and during this time five MLAs are likely to be made ministers, as reported by news agency PTI. An official said that the swearing-in ceremony will be held at Punjab Raj Bhavan at 5 pm on Monday.
This will be the first cabinet expansion in more than three months after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) formed the government in Punjab. With five more ministers taking oath, the number of ministers in Mann's cabinet will increase to 15, including the chief minister.
After the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) formed the government in the state following a landslide victory in the assembly elections held this year, Mann-led cabinet inducted 10 MLAs as ministers.

Breaking News LIVE | Manipur Landslide: 4 More Bodies Recovered, Toll Mounts To 46
The death toll in the landslide that struck a railway construction camp at Tupul in Manipur's Noney district rose to 46 on Monday as four more bodies were retrieved from under the debris on the fifth day of the search and rescue operations. The bodies were yet to be identified, even as 20 people, including three army personnel and 17 civilians, were accounted missing till Sunday.
