Nominations of 22 candidates from five assembly constituencies in Mathura were cancelled on Monday during scrutiny of the papers, election officials said.
The details provided in the nomination papers of 58 candidates from these assembly seats were found correct, District Returning Officer Navneet Singh Chahal said.
Giving a break-up, the official said details in the nomination papers of 15 candidates from Mathura, 13 from Chhatta, seven candidates from Baldeo, 10 candidates from Mant, and 13 candidates from Goverdhan have been found correct.
The exact figure of contestants from each assembly constituency would be known on January 27, the last date for withdrawal of the candidature, officials stated.
While nomination papers of 12 candidates were cancelled from the Mathura assembly constituency, two from Chhatta, three from Baldeo, and five from the Mant assembly constituency were also rejected, they said.
The Election Commission (EC) is all set to celebrate 12th National Voters' Day on Tuesday (January 25) with the theme of 'Making Elections Inclusive, Accessible and Participative', and envisage focus on the EC's commitment to facilitate active participation of voters during the elections while making the entire process hassle free and a memorable experience for all categories of voters.
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu was to be the Chief Guest on this occasion but due to his inability to attend the function, his message will be virtually delivered during the function.
Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju will grace the function as the Guest of Honour
To mark the occasion, National Awards for the Best Electoral Practices for the year 2021-22 will be conferred on state and district level officers for their outstanding performance in the conduct of elections in different spheres such as IT initiatives, security management, election management, accessible elections and contribution in the field of voter awareness and outreach.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday congratulated the Padma awardees from the state, saying it was a matter of pride, an official release said here.
Indian classical vocalist Prabha Atre was conferred the Padma Vibhushan, while Tata group head Natarajan Chandrasekaran and Cyrus Poonawalla of the Serum Institute of India are Padma Bhushan awardees.
