Uttarkhand Governor Approves 'Anti-Conversion' Bill
Uttarakhand Governor Lt. Gen (Retd) Gurmit Singh on Friday approved the Anti-Conversion Amendment Bill passed by the state Legislative Assembly in November this year, said Mahesh Chand Koshiwa, the additional secretary of the state Law department.
India Lauded For UNSC's December Presidency By Member States
The UN Member States on Friday (local time) heaped praise on India as it's United Nations Security Council December's presidential term comes to a close on December 31.
"Truly bittersweet moment, pleasure working alongside India, a Security Council veteran with principled foreign policy, constructive approach, a stellar cadre of diplomats. UAE particularly values its partnership with India on counterterrorism," said Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of the UAE to the UN, Mohamed Abushahab. Notably, UAE will take over from India the responsibility of chairing the CounterTerrorism Committee next month.
"As we navigate increasingly complex challenges & crises, we appreciate your much-needed focus on reforming multilateralism, your consistent advocacy for Global South," tweeted UAE in UN.

Maharashtra: Thane Police Arrests 3 Foreign Drug Peddlers, Seizes Drug Worth Rs 27.67 Lakh
Thane Police's Crime Branch Unit 5 apprehended three Nigerian drug peddlers in the Wagle East area and collected from them 60 grammes of high-quality cocaine and MD pharmaceuticals valued Rs 27.67 lakh on the international market.
