The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to name the Ayodhya airport after Lord Ram. The proposal will now be sent to the Civil Aviation Ministry.

New Delhi: The Yogi Adityanath government has decided to name the Ayodhya airport after Lord Ram. In an official statement the state government informed that the airport will be named Maryada Purshottam Shriram Airport, Ayodhya.
The state cabinet cleared the proposal to name the airport. It has also been decided to bring this proposal for passage in the UP Legislative Assembly, and send it to the Union Civil Aviation Ministry.

On Tuesday, the UP government approved the draft ordinance for 'Love Jihad'. According to the ordinance, a marriage will be declared null and void if the conversion of a woman is solely for that purpose. And it also has provisions for up to 10 years of punishment. According to cabinet minister Sidharth Nath Singh in a report by PTI, "punishment under the new law is a jail term from one to five years, and a fine of Rs 15,000. But if the woman involved is a minor or belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe, the jail term would range from three to 10 years, he said. The fine would increase to Rs 25,000. In the case of mass conversions, the punishment is from three years to 10 years and a fine of Rs 50,000 on the organisations which indulge in it."
Those wishing to change their religion after marriage also need to apply to the district magistrate.
