Andhra Pradesh: Young Badminton Player Kills Self As Family Couldn't Support Her Dreams
'Sister, I do not want to go. I'm sorry, you have to take care of our family ' the young badminton player committed suicide by texting her sister.
Hyderabad: A young shuttler with big future aspirations, a resident of Balayogi Nagar in Yanam township, ended her life on Monday.
According to police, Adilakshmi, the youngest daughter of Danduprolu Dharmarao of the local GMC Balayogi Colony, is a badminton player.
Preliminary inquiries have revealed that Adilakshmi's death was due to anxiety over her future as her father became jobless, who was earlier a fish vendor.
Reportedly, the young badminton player had many ambitions to reach the pinnacle of the sport. In 2019 and 2020, she had competed in the Sub-Junior Nationals and School Games Federation of India (SGFI) tournaments, where she excelled. Her goal was shattered when she realised her family's financial conditions.

'Before killing herself, Adilakshmi sent a WhatsApp message to her sister, which reads: "I do not want to go, Akka (sister). Grandma, on the other hand, seemed concerned about our future. Our grandmother and mother are both fallen ill, and the father is unemployed. I'm concerned about our future. I'm sorry, but you need to take care of our family. Goodbye, Akka."
The young shuttler with big future aspirations killed herself on Monday morning. As soon as the family got to know about this, she was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Sub Inspector Nandakumar said that the case had been registered as per the complaint lodged by father Dharmarao, and the possible reasons for the suicide are being investigated.
