Andhra Pradesh: Heavy Rains To Continue In Kadapa, Chittoor Districts, Holiday Declared For Schools, Colleges
Rayalaseema Districts are Receiving Heavy Rains Again. Holiday was announced for educational institutions in the Chittoor district on Monday.
Hyderabad: Chittoor, Kadapa and Nellore districts will receive heavy rains again due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal.
The recent floods have already caused severe damage in all three districts. Reservoirs and ponds in these three districts have already surpassed their maximum capacity. People are now worried about more damage with the India Meteorological Department warning about the possibility of more rains in these three districts.
District Collector V Vijayarama Raju said that control rooms have been set up in the Kadapa district for emergency services. On Sunday, the district collector said that 24-hour control rooms had been set up at three revenue division offices and the district collectorate for emergency services and relief to the people of the district due to the heavy rains.

With heavy rains expected across Chittoor district also, District Collector M. Hari Narayanan announced a holiday in all educational institutions on Monday. They also called the 'Spandana' event to be held at the collectorate on Monday. People were advised to be vigilant as all water bodies are now almost overflowing.
Tirupati Urban MRO Venkata Ramana appealed to the people in the low-lying areas of Tirupati city to be vigilant. The IMD has warned of heavy rains from Sunday night to Monday and advised people to stay at nearby rehabilitation centres. People in the low-lying areas were told to move to safe areas as indicated by the secretariat volunteers and village revenue officers in their area.
