Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Inaugurates 13 New Districts

CM Jagan said that new districts had been set up for administrative convenience and decentralisation.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy has Virtually inaugurated 13 new districts of Andhra Pradesh on Monday from the camp office in Thadepalli. With the addition of 13 new districts, Andhra Pradesh now has 26 districts.

On this occasion, CM Jagan said that the administration of Andhra Pradesh's 13 districts was split into 26 districts. These new districts will be the beginning of a new era in the state.

CM Jagan congratulated all the employees in the new districts. He recalled that the Prakasam district was formed in March 1970 and the Vizianagaram district in June 1979.

He said that new districts had been set up for administrative convenience and decentralisation. Jagan said that there are 26 districts in a state like Arunachal Pradesh, with less population than Andhra Pradesh as he asserted the importance of the formation of new districts based on population.

Andhra Pradesh's population consists of about 4.96 crore people. With new districts' formation, per district population has reduced to half compared to the earlier population per district. Earlier, there were 38.15 lakh people per district now with the formation of 26 districts, it has become a district with an average population of 19.7 lakh.

The CM said that the government is focused on governance from the village level and set up districts and revenue divisions to support it. Andhra Pradesh will now have 26 districts and 72 revenue divisions.

  1. Manyam district - Parvathipuram
  2. Alluri Sitharama Raju district - Paderu
  3. Anakapalli district - Anakapalli
  4. Kakinada district - Kakinada
  5. Kona Seema district - Amalapuram
  6. Eluru district - Eluru
  7. NTR district - Vijayawada
  8. Bapatla district - Bapatla
  9. Palnadu district - Narsaraopeta
  10. Nandyal district - Nandyal
  11. Sri Satyasai district - Puttaparthy
  12. Sri Balaji district - Tirupati
  13. Annamayya district - Rayachoty
