Andhra Pradesh: 60 Maoists Surrender After Top Leader's Arrest In Alluri Sitharama Raju District

Hyderabad: 60 Maoists including 33 party members and 27 militia members surrendered before Andhra Pradesh Police in presence of DIG Harikrishna. These surrenders were followed by top Maoist's arrest in Alluri Sitharama Raju district on Tuesday.
Notorious Maoist, V Rama Krishna, who was arrested on Tuesday, was involved in the murder of Telugu Desam Party MLA K Sarveswar Rao and Ex-MLA Siveri Somu In Araku in 2017. Rama Krishna held the position of area committee secretary for the banned outfit (Maoist) in Alluri Sitharama Raju district.
Police recovered Rs 39 lakh cash, 5 kg landmine, five detonators, batteries, a 9-mm pistol & ammunition from Rama Krishna's possession. The arrested Maoist was involved in 124 cases including 14 murders, according to police.

All the 60 Maoists belong to Kondrum, Jadiguda, Tagupadu, Jumadam, and Nanubari villages in the Maoist stronghold region.
Andhra Pradesh Police taking this to official Twitter, said, "AP DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy, IPS, appeals all Maoist party cadres to surrender and join the mainstream to lead a normal life and also to avail the benefits of ‘Surrender & Rehabilitation Policy' of the Government."
This surrendering displays the weakening base of the Party due to the developmental activities taken up by the government and people are vexed with the outdated ideology of the Maoist Party, claimed the police.
