Baduan Gangrape Horror Repeats; 50-Year-Old Jharkhand Widow Raped, Steel Glass Inserted In Private Parts

In Jharkhand, a 50 year old widow was raped and brutalized after an argument broke out between victim and accused. The survivor has been admitted to Hunterganj Community Health Centre but her condition is critical.

New Delhi: In a horrifying incident that took place in Jharkhand, a 50 year old was allegedly raped by three youths. A steel was inserted into the woman’s private parts, according to the police. The 50 year old was brutalized in Kobna village in Hunterganj police station area late on Thursday night. The victim has been admitted to Hunterganj Community Health Centre and though her condition is still critical. A case has been registered under IPC section 376 D (gangrape).  According to a TOI report, two of the accused, identified as Bablu Paswan and Bittu Paswan, were arrested and while the third is still abscoding. Allegedly, there was an argument prior to the incident between the accused and victim. The doctors there termed her condition as critical and referred her to the government medical college in Magadh of Gaya district in neighbouring Bihar according to the TOI report. ALSO READ: 10 Infants Killed In Fire At Maharashtra Hospital, State Govt Announces 5 Lakh Ex-Gratia In a similar incident which took place on Sunday, a 50-year-old Anganwadi worker was gangraped and brutalized, in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun. The culprits who were later arrested, dumped the victim’s body at her home. The post-mortem report confirms that an iron rod was inserted into her private parts. According to the autopsy, the woman's ribs were broken and her left lung also suffered damage during the attack. The report attributed the woman's death to excessive bleeding and shock. On Thursday, a two-member team from the National Commission for Women (NCW) met the victim’s family members at their village and expressed dissatisfaction over the police action in the case.
