Blackout Review: Disguised as a heist drama, 'Blackout' stands out as an incredible entertainer, filled with unimaginable and unbelievable twists and turns that make this suspense thriller an engrossing and engaging watch.

Story:

The gripping story revolves around a journalist named Lenny D'souza (Vikrant Massey) and the array of bizarre characters he encounters while on the run. 'Blackout' encapsulates every element of a mainstream masala movie.

The plot intricately weaves through how Lenny D'souza's life becomes entangled in his own web of lies and deceits, and despite facing life-threatening situations, how he ultimately gets away with the unexpected loot.

The most compelling aspect of the film is its constant unpredictability, which entertains and keeps the audience hooked until the very end.

Writing and direction:

Written and directed by Devang Shashin Bhavsar, the narrative style of this suspense thriller is taut and pacy, ensuring there is never a dull moment. The dialogues are sharp and witty, often provoking laughter. Each character in the film brings something unique to the table, maintaining the high entertainment quotient.

From the engaging script to the engrossing storytelling, the brilliant camera work to the crisp editing, the sharp writing to the high production values—everything blends seamlessly to create a laugh riot filled with thrills and chills.

Performances:

Vikrant Massey, as the lead protagonist, delivers a remarkable performance. His portrayal of one of the most complex characters in the film is executed with such panache and ease that it showcases his versatility. Watching Vikrant Massey navigate the messy situations throughout the film, it's hard to imagine any other actor embodying this character with such brilliance. His effortless performance underscores that there are very few actors like him who can be so exceptional in their roles.

Sunil Grover, as the alcoholic shayar Asgar Don, also wins hearts with his eccentric behavior and unique traits. Traditionally known as a comedic actor, Sunil Grover demonstrates his acting prowess, proving he can be equally entertaining even when he's not cracking jokes.

The character who captivates everyone's attention, despite being unseen throughout the film, is the narrator. Anil Kapoor entices audiences with his unique style, introducing one bizarre character after another.
