Kaagaz 2 Review: A Gripping Tale of Struggle, Emotion, And Battle For Justice

Directed by V.K. Prakash, Kaagaz 2's plot and cast are its strengths. Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, and Satish Kaushik deliver outstanding performances.

New Delhi: 'Kaagaz 2' explores the everyday struggles of the common man caught in the relentless race of life. The vast divide between ordinary citizens and those in power is depicted as an enduring and unbridgeable gap. The film raises questions about whether the country's legal system stands by those who raise their voices for their rights.

Story
The narrative revolves around two families. Uday's father left him and his mother during his childhood, leaving Uday with a lingering sense of regret for not joining the Indian Army. On the other hand, there's a father and his UPSC topper daughter, whose lives take a tragic turn during a political rally. The film delves into a prolonged battle against the administration and those in power. Can the father win this fight? Does Uday reconcile with his father after years of separation? Does Uday achieve his dream of becoming an army officer? These questions form the crux of the story, inviting viewers to witness the struggle on the big screen.

How is the film
Directed by V.K. Prakash, the film's plot and cast are its strengths. The story resonates emotionally and evokes tears in several instances. Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, and Satish Kaushik deliver outstanding performances. The monologues by Kher and Kaushik, especially during the courtroom scenes, are gripping and emotional.

The film, although starting with the premise of Uday's journey to becoming an army officer, takes unexpected turns, keeping the audience engaged. While it showcases the harsh realities of the legal and political systems, some scenes may leave you questioning the depth of characters like Neena Gupta's, who is a remarkable actress but appears underutilised.

'Kaagaz 2' is Satish Kaushik's final film, and his performance stands out as one of his best. The direction by V.K. Prakash and cinematography are commendable. The film's music, whether the background score or the songs, receives adequate attention, enhancing the overall viewing experience.

'Kaagaz 2' is an emotional rollercoaster that you can enjoy with your family and friends.
