Agni Movie Review: Pratik Gandhi, Saiyami Kher Starrer Is A Stellar Tribute To Firefighters

Agni movie review: 'Agni' is a heartfelt tribute to firefighters, offering a fresh and engaging cinematic experience. It not only entertains but also educates viewers.

Agni movie review: 'Agni', now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, sheds light on a profession often overlooked – the lives of firefighters. This film, directed by Rahul Dholakia and penned by Dholakia and Vijay Maurya, dives into the challenges faced by these unsung heroes with sincerity and a fresh perspective.

Agni storyline

The narrative revolves around Vitthal Rao (Pratik Gandhi), the head of a fire station, and his team who risk their lives daily to save others. Despite their bravery, firefighters like Vitthal receive little recognition. Vitthal's brother-in-law, Samit Sawant (Divyenndu Sharma), is a successful police officer with material comforts, earning the admiration of Vitthal's son, who sees him as his hero instead of his own father.

The film also uncovers a sinister plot behind recurring fires in Mumbai's high-rise buildings. While the suspense unfolds, the core message highlights the neglect of firefighters who are true heroes yet remain in the shadows.

Performance

Pratik Gandhi delivers an exceptional performance as a dedicated firefighter, a father, and a husband, capturing every nuance of his character with perfection. His grasp of the Mumbai dialect and comic timing adds depth to his role, making it one of his finest performances.

Divyenndu Sharma impresses as Samit, showcasing his acting versatility beyond his popular Munna Bhaiya persona. Sai Tamhankar, as Vitthal's wife, portrays her role with simplicity and conviction. Saiyami Kher and Jitendra Joshi also shine in their respective roles, while child artist Kabir Shah leaves a lasting impression.

Direction and writing

Rahul Dholakia deserves applause for choosing such a unique subject and presenting it with a balance of humour, emotion, and a powerful message. The writing is compelling, with the firefighting scenes executed brilliantly, keeping the audience engaged while evoking respect for these real-life heroes.

Verdict

'Agni' is a heartfelt tribute to firefighters, offering a fresh and engaging cinematic experience. It not only entertains but also educates viewers about the immense contributions of these brave individuals. After watching this film, you’ll likely find yourself saluting the firefighters in your community.
